Jye Patterson, Heart Angus, said it was a solid result and it was particularly pleasing to have a full clearance.
"Everyone got the bulls they wanted," he said.
"It was probably a good 60\40 split - 60 per cent return buyers and then a good 40pc new buyers."
Many of the stud's clients were experiencing a good season and the main demand was for cow bulls, he said.
It was the second year in a row that a Millah Murrah Rolls Royce son had topped the sale, Mr Patterson said.
Offspring from the US sires Sitz Resilient 10208, Ellingson Prolific and Myers Fair-N-Square M39 also sold well.
"A lot of our bigger clients were looking for good numbers of bulls, they're all joining a few more cows and good lines of heifers this year," he said.
"Everyone needed bulls - they're wanting to join them because they're thinking their going to have a pretty good spring."
