Reputation for structure, longevity, draws the bidding at Inglebrae Angus

Repeat clients dominated the bidding on Friday (July 18) at Tenterfield chasing structure and longevity bulls in Inglebrae Angus' bulls.

Inglebrae Angus sold bulls to a top of $27,000, and of the 35 sires offered 33 sold to average $10,394.

Lot one, the station-bred Inglebrae Farms Rambo U97, by Rambo R7, kicked off the bidding with rapid fire momentum, rising quickly to the top price and eventually going to Queensland Brangus and Ultra Black producers Adrian and Megan Forrest, Bellona at Augathella, Qld.

The stretchy calf, 35 kilograms at birth and 804kg on sale day, scanned an eye muscle area of 121 square centimetres, a scrotal circumference of 40cm and the highest intramuscular fat of the draft at 7.4 per cent.

His sperm motility recorded 90pc.

Inglebrae Farms Angus bull sale, Tenterfield, July 18, 2025.

The Forrest family will use their first-time Inglebrae purchase as a back-up heifer bull to assist their artificial insemination program. Their commercial progeny are grown out to heavy feeder weight.

"We liked his birth weight and IMF percentage," said Mr Forrest of the purchase.

Rambo U97's estimated breeding values included +58 for 200-day growth, +105 for 400 day and +135 for 600 day growth, all in the top 25pc for the breed while his IMF EBV was +4, in the top 20pc.

Another first-time client, Peter and Kellie Kneipp, Killara at Tenterfield, who produce Angus weaner calves for the Tablelands market, bid to $22,000 for Inglebrae Farms Kruse U75 by Millah Murrah Kruse Time N177.

Weighing 772kg on sale day, with 115sq cm EMA and 6.6pc IMF, his sperm motility test returned at 90pc.

"We liked his carcase attributes, his shape and length," said Mrs Kneipp. "We especially liked his strength of spine and the way he moves."

First time clients Wickham Cattle Company, Killarney, Qld, bought two bulls to average $16,000 and top at $18,000 for Inglebrae Farms Rambo U137 with top 25pc IMF and positive growth.

Volume buyers and long-term repeat clients, the Landenberger family from Ben Lomond came away with five sires to average $10,600. Their top pick was $20,000 for the station-bred Inglebrae Farms Showman U109, by Showman S52 going back to S Chisum 255 on the sire side and Baldridge 38 Special on the dam's lineage.

With a birth weight of 38kg and a sale day presence of 754kg he scanned with 115sq cm EMA, 6.4pc IMF and recorded a 95pc motility, which was the highest of the draft.

Father and son team Andrew and Andreas Landenberger, who carry some of their calves through to a finished beef product on oats at their Delungra property, praised the Inglebrae bulls for structure, heavy-weighing and longevity.

"We especially like that combination of Chisum and 38 Special," said Andreas.

Repeat clients the Baguley family, Sandy Flat via Tenterfield, paid $16,000 for another Showman son, U87, with 117sq cm EMA and 7.2pc IMF.

The sale was hosted by APL Tenterfield with Blake O'Reilly calling for the bids and StockLive handling the online action.
