Australian Sheep & Wool Show

Sheep enthusiasts from all over the country descended on Bendigo on Friday morning as the 25th Australian Sheep & Wool Show sparked into action.

The Merino and meat breed sheds were a buzz of activity as interstate sheep exhibitors, many who had travelled hundreds of kilometres, made their final preparations ahead of three days of competition.

Breeders of over 30 different breeds of sheep will step out with their top stock over the course of the weekend, hoping to impress judges.

Since gathering for last year's event, many southern sheep farmers have had an extremely challenging 12 months of drought.

Despite doing it tough, many were relieved to get a few days off the farm to meet with old friends and colleagues.

It was a case of smiles, catch ups and friendly competition.

The Stock & Land team was on the ground to snap up all the action.
