An Irish woman with beef farming roots has joined Herefords Australia's backroom team.

Àine Egan started as the breed association's marketing and communications manager last month and will work alongside current marketing and communications co-ordinator Olivia Pearce.

Ms Egan, brings over eight years of experience in marketing, communications, and brand development to the role.

She also has a "lifelong" passion for agriculture, having spent her childhood on her grandparents' cattle farm in Co Westmeath, Ireland.

She moved to Australia eight years ago.

Ms Egan attended the Herefords Australia National Show & Sale in Wodonga in May, a baptism of fire amongst some of the best cattle breeders in Australia.

A tricky one for Australians to get right, the association's team published a guide to pronouncing Àine's name.

"Pronounced "Onya" - just think 'good on ya', a note to the membership read.

Previously, Ms Egan led the marketing team at EvotecPlus, a prominent Australian technology provider.

She said she was "thrilled" to join the "dedicated and passionate" Herefords Australia team.

"It's a privilege to be part of such a respected organisation with deep roots in Australian agriculture," she said.

"I'm excited to work alongside a passionate herd, championing the Hereford breed and delivering massive impact through creative, strategic marketing."

A Herefords Australia spokesperson said they "couldn't be more thrilled to welcome someone of ine's calibre, creativity, and dedication to our team".

"Her experience and passion will be instrumental in driving the future success of Herefords Australia's communications and outreach efforts - with a few good yarns along the way."
