Tattykeel Australian Whites continued its winning streak at the NSW Sheep Show at Dubbo.

Having reigned supreme in the Poll Dorsets, the Black Springs stud went on to sweep the board in the Australian Whites on Friday, May 30.

Judge Peter Gordon, Albury, said there was a magnificent line-up of high-quality sheep on display.

Mr Gordon selected Tattykeel 240156 as the champion ram, ahead of Tattykeel 240151 in reserve.

He said the champion ram's sheer power, carcase capacity and balance highlighted what the breed was all about.

"When you put your hands on him, you can feel his loins and almost perfect fat cover," Mr Gordon said.

"He has a sirey outlook about him with structural correctness and stands up well."

It just came down to extra yield, he said.

The reserve ram had plenty of great breeding years ahead, Mr Gordon said, but he didn't have the depth of carcase as the ram in front.

James Gilmore, Tattykeel, said the full embryo-transfer brothers were both sired by the $240,000 price world record-holder, Tattykeel Platinum.

"We're over the moon with the results as the studs here all presented terrific sheep," he said.

"We thrive on always wanting to be better, and we never want to sit or be idle.

"You never make a difference following the crowd, which is why we're not afraid to make our own decisions."

Mr Gilmore said comparing stock phenotypes with other breeders to refine their program was a key reason they returned to the NSW Sheep Show each year

In the ewes, Tattykeel 240029 was sashed champion, with Tattykeel 240011 in reserve.

Mr Henry said picking the champion ewe was an awfully hard decision.

"She has so much all-round balance and the capacity that we're looking for with an outstanding carcase," he said.

"She has a beautiful head, great structure, and I know she can walk a long way."

Mr Henry said the ewe in reserve was also incredible.

"She is a lovely, clean, balanced animal with a lot of length," he said.

Mr Gilmore said they had already flushed the top ewe, with plans for another round in November after the Australian Sheep & Wool Show at Bendigo, Vic.
