Watch the moment a heifer cracked six-figures at the Elite Angus Female Sale
There was a round of applause and cheers from a packed stadium when the hammer fell on a six-figure sale in the Elite Angus Female Sale at Tamworth on May 4.
Held as part of the World Angus Expo, the multi-vendor sale started off strong, but it was the unjoined Banquet Dream V005 that was knocked down for $134,000 to Ballawinna Angus stud, Albany, WA.
Offered by Banquet Angus, Mortlake, Vic, the January-2024 drop was by Banquet Nuttella N462 and from Premier Y301 Dream G13.

Dream V005 ranked in the top six per cent of the breed for 600-day growth.
In the catalogue, Banquet noted all of the heifer's flush sisters had been retained.
The stud offered the heifer for outright sale, but was offering to purchase back a 50pc share.
The current breed record for a registered female is $190,000, which was paid by Brooklana Angus stud, Brooklana, in 2017 for Millah Murrah Prue MA (AI) (ET).
The sale remains underway with Elders as selling agents and Scott Cooper the auctioneer.
