The Tamworth leg of the World Angus Forum has been described as a fantastic success and a delight to the organisers.

Angus Australia president, Sinclair Munro, described the success of the event as exceeding all expectations.

"We had close to 4000 people through the gates over the two days," he said.

"There were so many commercial producers that were part of the event, which helped with the success."

Mr Munro said the drawing power of the event, with cattle from as far as southeast South Australia, showed the high level of interest.

"The feedback we received from those who had displays in the sheds showcased the diversity of the breed.

"Another part of the success was the dedication shown by the people who planned and managed the event," he said.

Mr Munro said the high level of interest shown in the international youth events was outstanding.

"The number of young people aged between 18 and 30 in various competitions shows there is a bright future for the breed.

"The level of talent from all over the world was awesome.

Countries represented included Australia, Canada, Great Britain, republic of Ireland, Indonesia, the Czech Republic, New Zealand, and the United States.

Angus Australia Chief Executive Officer Scott Wright said the level of energy was fantastic, which is great for us," he said.

"I had a lot of Europeans come to me, particularly German guys, and they said the quality of cattle was amazing, far beyond what they thought they'd see.

"So that's really positive. That's what we're all about, Angus cattle and showing them off to the world."

Mr Wright said the Elite Angus female sale was a big drawcard for day two.

"The auction will be a pretty well sought-after event," Mr Wright said.

"That's occupying breeders' minds, even a lot of international visitors are coming up and asking how to register to bid."

Mr Wright said Angus Australia had run a number of workshops preparing potential bidders to be export-ready.

"European buyers can't buy cattle that have been vaccinated for IVR (Infectious bovine rhinotracheitis)," he said.

"North America and Europe have good access, and some South American delegates also show plenty of interest."
