Proven maternal lines have shown their strength once again for Summit Livestock at the 2025 Limousin National show and sale, held at Albury showgrounds on April 26.

Rising above 32 exhibits under the eyes of judge Peter Sykes, Mawarra Genetics, Longford, Vic, and associate judge Harrison Rees, Gerrigeerup, Vic, it was 14-month-old Summit Cauliflower V34 who claimed the supreme champion sash.

Exhibited by Hayden and Jazmine Green, Summit Livestock Partnership, Roslyn, the Cottage Lake Big Star daughter was the 'most complete' for the judges.

Mr Sykes said the young female was a great example of the breed.

"She's very hard to fault," he said.

"Structurally, she's very sound, beautiful top line, she's got plenty of muscle and just an outstanding heifer.

"She's got that softness that I like and the doing ability that we need in our cattle nowadays."

The young female was previously sashed junior champion female earlier in the day, and went on to be the grand champion female over the senior champion female, Morrisvale Upperclass Lady, exhibited by Morrisvale Limousins, Makin, South Australia.

She then went on to compete against stablemate and grand champion bull, Summit Genius U807, also exhibited by Summit Livestock Partnership, to win the supreme exhibit.

Hayden Green, Summit Livestock Partnership, said she came from a line of well-performing females within the stud.

"She's got about five generations of donors in her pedigree now, that whole cow lineage has been extremely influential for our herd," he said.

"We took her to Canberra and Sydney and she stood third both times in some pretty competitive classes.

"She's starting to really hit her straps now as she gets a bit more age, she's only a baby, so she's been quite young all show season, and now she just has a little bit more in her."

Reserve champion junior female was awarded to Bush Park Special U11, exhibited by Patrick Halloran, Kyneton, Vic, while the reserve senior champion was also awarded to the Victorian stud with Bush Park Fifi U9.

Rising from the junior classes of the bull exhibits, Summit Genius U807 was sashed the top ribbon over champion senior bull Mistletoe U404, exhibited by Denis and Pam O'Connor, Greta South, Vic.

The 20-month-old homozygous black bull, 840 kilograms, recorded a scrotal measurement of 41 centimetres, with a scan of 131 square centimetre eye muscle area and rib and P8 fat scans of nine millimetres and 14mm, respectively.

Mr Sykes said the bull was an outstanding exhibit.

"He's definitely got all the fundamentals we need in the beef industry going for him," he said.

"I think he's a great asset to the Limousin breed, he's going to put everything that you want into his calves, great strong head on him, great feet, good testicles, depth of body and softness."

Also stemming from a strong line of females within the Summit program, the Cole Genius son was one of the only progeny of the US sire in Australia.

"His mother is a Ready Made, which is one of the three major cow families that we bought in from the USA," Mr Green said.

"He's mother is still producing for a herd we sold her to as a 14 year-old cow, there'a a lot of longevity there, it's been a great cow family."

Mr Green said winning both grand champion titles was a pretty awesome feeling.

"I think we've won both the grand three times now, and I think we're the only people you have done a double grand with their own cattle and their own prefix ever," he said.

"It's pretty cool to have an achievement like that, which is going to take some people a while to beat."

The stud was also awarded reserve champion junior bull with Summit Gold Rush U443, while GL Livestock Ultimate Revelation was awarded reserve senior champion bull, exhibited by Gemma and Luke Gummbleton, Eurimbla.
