Two-day sale celebrates PBF's 20th anniversary

Paul and Brigid Fenech, PBF Stud have been conducting their annual on-property sales at their Sarina base, The Chase for two decades.
The family has decided to celebrate this milestone with a two-day sale at The Chase on August 21-22 this year.
The event will start with lunchtime inspections, where lunch will be provided on Thursday, followed by a Sunset Sale commencing at 6pm.
On offer will be a catalogue of select sires, cow and calf units, heifers, semen and genetic packages.
The following day, at 9am, the operation will conduct a bull and female sale composed of 200 lots comprising sire prospects, bulls, breeder units and heifers.
The family has ensured that the catalogue will contain an offering that represents an unrivalled selection of genetics and heritage breeding in this anniversary sale.
The selections made, and the offering contained in the sale will be of great importance and relevance to commercial cattlemen, seedstock producers and all Brahman enthusiasts.
Commenting on the forthcoming sale, Paul Fenech said, "The legacy of influential sires remains, it's deeply rooted in our pedigrees.
"Our breeding program has seen the reintroduction of a select number of our past sires.
"If you like, the offering is an intermingling of traditional heritability with the modern Brahman."
He went further saying, "Our focus has always been on the importance of practical performance and fertility.
"The true breeding at the core of our program has never been entertaining trends, unless they can be accounted for in terms that they're of true benefit to the market and the breed, both short and long term, impacts that can be calculated."
The Fenech family has assembled an array of females featuring both modern and more traditional types, genetic packages that involve modern type donors, and a massive genetic portfolio of 18 colonial and 15 imported US sires.
Among the huge offering is the first release in one of the operation's most impressive sires, the US import, JDH Massai Pemba Manso 912/7.
This exciting prospect will be represented in both male and female sections of the catalogue.
In a relatively short space of time the bull's progeny has created a great deal of interest from his importers and visitors to the PBF stud.
On current trajectory, Pemba Manso 912/7 is destined to make one of the most profound and significant impacts on the operation for many years.
