The inaugural JNH and Kyilla Park Brahman online heifer sale saw strong interest from buyers across Queensland, with successful bidders ranging from Cunnamulla to Charters Towers.

Justin and Hayley Titmarsh and their daughter Skye, of JNH and Kyilla Park Brahman stud at Condamine, offered 34 heifers in the sale, each sold in a group based on their catalogued lot.

The heifers were grouped according to similar types. Bidding opened on Tuesday, March 18, and the auction closed at 6pm on Wednesday, March 19.

At the fall of the hammer, 31 out of 34 heifers sold, giving a clearance rate of 91 per cent and $3194 average.

The top price of $4250 per head was achieved for two heifers, JNH Ingrid and JNH Florida.

Ingrid, a 16-month-old heifer weighing 460 kilograms, and Florida, a 17-month-old heifer weighing 400 kilograms, were purchased by repeat buyers, Reldas Brahman stud at Ingham, owned by Wade and Katherine Sadler and their boys, Connor and Cody Sadler.

The Sadlers operate a small red Brahman breeding business near Ingham, managing a herd of 30 head and two bulls.

They are currently in the process of rebuilding their herd after losing stock in the recent floods.

Mr Sadler shared the reason behind the recent purchases was that they were impressed with the direction of the JNH and Kyilla Park breeding programs.

"Last year, we purchased a JNH bull, JNH Dunlop, and had the opportunity to visit the Titmarsh family. We were truly impressed by the quality of cattle they produce and the knowledge they shared with us," Mr Sadler said.

"These were exceptional females, and we believe they will have a positive impact on our herd."

Looking ahead, Mr Sadler said they plan to include them in their stud breeding program, which is set to begin an embryo trial soon.

The second-highest price of $4000 per head was achieved for Kyilla Park Jacinta and Kyilla Park Amelius, both sold to new clients, Leslie and Rebecca Lamont of Charters Towers.

The Lamonts were the top volume buyers, purchasing six lots totalling 18 heifers at an average price of $3441.60 per head.

Skye Titmarsh spoke about the sale's success, noting that while the family regularly sells commercial heifers, this was the first time they offered genetics online.

"We often sell commercial heifers every year and always get a lot of interest, so we decided to open it up to a broader market to see if more people were interested," she said.

"It's nice to present something we're confident in."

She said the heifers were all the family's breeding and highlighted their strong carcase quality and growth rates.

"We've been able to put them out there because we have that excess quality and the market seems to be growing," she said.

After the sale, Skye said all the females that passed in had sold.

"It's certainly something we plan to treat as a continuing sale for future years," Ms Titmarsh said.

Elders' stud stock manager Michael Smith praised the sale results

"The females presented very well and in perfect condition," he said. "As always, the temperament of the JNH and Kyilla Park cattle is second to none."

The sale attracted interest from a range of buyers across Queensland, as well as interest from interstate buyers in NSW and Victoria.
