Aussie young guns ready to take on all comers in World Angus competition

Eight talented young Australian beef producers are ready to take on all comers in the Zoetis World Angus Youth Competition in Sydney from April 28 to May 8.
The Angus Australia members have been selected to represent their country and compete for the Angus Australia team in the World Angus Youth Competition, under the supervision of team coach, Kate Schoen.
All are passionate about the Australian beef industry, in particular the Angus breed, and all have something different to bring to the table when they come up against world-class competitors over the week-long event.
The team are:
Lilli Stewart, Birregurra, Victoria, began attending youth events and cattle shows across Australia from age eight, and purchased her first heifer and established Waterlilli Angus at 10. In 2023, she undertook a study tour of North America after receiving the 2019 Mathew George Young Stockman Award.
Micquella Grima, Howlong NSW is in the final stages of a double degree, in a Bachelor of Agriculture and Bachelor of Agribusiness through the University of New England (UNE) Armidale, specialising in Livestock Marketing, Nutrition and Genetics. She is the Nutrien stud stock marketing specialist for the Southern Region.
Chloe Plowman works as a real estate and livestock agent in Kingaroy, Qld, with a strong passion for showing cattle, the Angus breed and being involved in the beef industry. The majority of her time outside of work is spent on her family's stud and commercial Angus operations.
Ben Duddy grewup on his family's Killain Angus Stud in Tamworth, where Angus cattle have always been his passion. Since attending his first Angus Roundup in 2016, he has competed successfully at Royal Shows throughout Australia in junior judging, cattle parading, and meat judging, becoming an MLA Red Meat Ambassador in 2024. He also manages his family's commercial Angus operation in King Island, Tasmania.
Charlie Salter, Dalby, Qld, along with his family, operates U8J Cattle Company and is currently studying veterinary science at James Cook University (JCU) in Townsville. His sister, Matilda Salter is also involved in the family'smixed cropping and grazing operation outside of Dalby, as well as the U8J Cattle Company. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Midwifery at JCU.
Jake Turner lives on a mixed farming enterprise north of Lake Cargelligo, NSW, and is currently in his first year of a Bachelor of Agricultural Business Management at Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga.
Georgie Laurie recently graduated from the UNE with a Bachelor of Rural Science gaining first class honours with her study in residual feed intake measurements in beef cattle. Georgia recently toured America competing as a part of the Australian Intercollegiate Meat Judging team.
