After a lengthy hiatus, followed by a successful reintroduction in 2024, vendors are gearing up for the Elders Outback Invitational Longreach Bull Sale to be held at the Longreach Saleyards, from 11am on Tuesday, March 25.

For this year's sale, 91 bulls have been catalogued across five breeds by eight Queensland and New South Wales vendors.

The draft will include 22 Shorthorn, 30 Angus, 20 Charolais, 15 Santa Gertrudis, and four Charbray.

Those offering drafts for this year's sale will include: The Job family, Royalla Shorthorns; Stephen Hayward and Kellie Smith, K5X Angus; the Duggan family, Acacia Angus; Darren Hegarty, Carabar Angus; Roderick Binny, Glenlea Beef (Charolais); Nigel Spink, Challambi Charolais; the Pearce family, Bendalla Santa Gertrudis; and the Teelow family, Amboss Beef (Charbray).

Elders sale agent Andrew Meara said this year's draft of commercially oriented bulls offered "value for money through the catalogue".

Those who are unable to make the trip to Longreach for the sale will have the option of bidding from home by utilising the Stocklive Elite online platform.

All bulls will be available for inspection at the Longreach Saleyards from midday onwards on Monday, March 24.

The catalogue can be viewed now on the Stocklive and Elders websites.

"Last year we had buyers in attendance from Alpha, Clermont, Quilpie, and through to the Channel Country in the west. Strong support was also provided by producers local to Longreach," Mr Meara said.

Improved seasons and restocked paddocks led to the return of the sale last year in which 110 lots were offered across seven breeds.

After the dust had settled on sale day, 90 lots had sold for a clearance rate of 82 per cent, while an average of $6429 was achieved for a gross of $578,610.

K5X Angus bulls, K5X Terminator T92 and K5X Transformer T63 topped the day, sharing the honours at $14,000 apiece.

"It was a good result last year. Some breeds fared better than others, however, all lots offered were very affordable."
