A total of 39 highly regarded Droughtmaster seedstock producers will converge on the Gympie Saleyards from 9am on Saturday, March 8 for the 44th Droughtmaster National Female Sale.

The sale, which is the largest of its kind for selling Droughtmaster females in a multivendor setting, will this year see a combined draft of 198 lots offered.

This year's draft will consist of 177 unjoined heifers, nine joined lots, and 12 cow and calf units.

Alongside many returning sale veterans, the Annandale Acres, Benbullen, Glenlands J, Jigsaw, Notable, Pitt Vale T, and Saddleback studs will offer their first drafts of females at the National in 2025.

The National sale has historically attracted buyers from as far south as Northern New South Wales, up to North Queensland, and across to Western Qld.

When the dust had settled on the 2024 sale, 139 of the 169 lots offered had sold for a clearance rate of 82 per cent, to average $5442, gross $756,500, and peak at $21,000. Of the 139 lots, three out of six joined heifers sold to a top of $4500 and averaged $4167, and 136 out of 163 unjoined heifers sold to an average of $5471.

Those who're unable to attend this year's sale in person but wish to bid can do so by following the sale via the Stocklive online selling platform.

A bulk buyers rebate will be offered to purchasers of eight or more lots at the sale. Qld-based buyers will receive a $50 rebate per lot, while those from all other states will receive a $75 rebate.

All females selected for this year's sale will be available for inspection from 3pm on the afternoon of Friday, March 7.

From 6.30pm on the Friday, all in attendance are invited to attend the Cooloola Stockfeed Barbecue to be held at the saleyards.
