Two interstate buyers purchase top-priced bull at Allendale Angus sale

Two joint NSW bidders purchased the top-priced bull at the Allendale Angus sale at Bordertown on Tuesday.
Tim Vincent, Booragul Angus, Gunnedah, NSW, bought in conjunction with Knowla Livestock, Gloucester, NSW.
The first-time buyers purchased Allendale 38 Special U259 for $22,000.
It was sired by Baldridge 38 Special and out of Allendale Wineskin M227.
Mr Vincent saw a video of the bull online and was impressed with what he saw.
"What I liked about him was his overall balance, his structure looked very good," he said.
"He'll go into both our programs as a backup to our AI sires."
Overall, there were 33 bulls sold out of 39 offered, for an average of $8939.
Bidding came from three states - Victoria, NSW and South Australia.
The sale was conducted by Spence Dix & Co, with Jono Spence auctioneering.
"The whole sale showed outstanding value for money," Mr Spence said.
"I think these cattle continue to impress and the proof is in the pudding with a lot of repeat buyers and people who keep coming back."
These repeat buyers included father and daughter Charlie and Lucy Koch, Frances, who bought three bulls to a top of $9000 and average of $8000.
Mr Koch said the overall quality kept him returning to the stud.
"The bulls are always very sound, as well as being nice and docile," he said.
Buying the second and third-highest-priced bulls at $16,000 and $14,000 were Kinyerie Partnership, Keith.
Amherst Livestock, Willalooka, purchased five bulls to $8000, averaging $6600.
Principal Alastair Day said while there were a few new faces, it was mostly repeat buyers at the sale.
"We're very fortunate to have a good client base that supports us and we in turn supply them with good genetics," he said.
