Online sale proves a success for Boonarkm

It was a "complete package" black Simmental bull that sold for the top price during Boonarkm Angus and Limitless Cattle Co's online sale on Monday.
Lining up for the Cream of the Crop sale, Boonarkm Angus and Limitless Cattle Co, Mount Magnificent, sold nine of 12 bulls.
Stud principal Annie Palmer said the top-priced bull, Lot 3, a black Simmental, Limitless Buzz Worthy U80, sold for $8000.
The bull was purchased by B Blefari and Son, of Flaxley in the Adelaide Hills.
Mrs Palmer said the top bull was an embryo transfer son out of a Hobbs Livestock HoneyBee donor cow.
"We are very impressed with what she produces," Mrs Palmer said.
"He has got a really, really strong dam side. He is by one of Hobbs bulls from Canada (via embryo). He is extremely well bred."
Mrs Palmer said he was in the top 10 per cent for both weaning and yearling weight and had a "good set of feet and legs".
"He was just a really, really tidy and complete package," she said.
Selling for $7000, the top Angus, Lot 5, Boonarkm K132 Undefeated U665, will make its way to CB Rowe at Paris Creek.
Mrs Palmer said he had an excellent spread of data that matched his phenotype. He was in the top five- 10pc for growth figures.
"Overall a really good bull with quite strong maternal and sire lines," Mrs Palmer said.
"Lot 3 and Lot 5 have both been used in the spring herd...we thought a lot of them, and wanted to use them within our own herd as stud sires."
They also successfully sold the potential Angus show heifer they offered for $4500 to Yellowbox Angus, in Finley NSW.
"The female will head into NSW," she said.
"We had a lot of females in the herd from her dam, and she was a really special female; we thought it was time to share one of this calibre.
"Another very well-bred female that we think will do great things for the stud she's heading to and the Angus breed overall."
The sale averaged $5700 (excluding the heifer).
Their sale attracted 176 registered bidders from across Australia, 140 guests and was viewed more than 3000 times.
Mrs Palmer said the online sale followed their Stock Journal Beef Week 2025 open day on Sunday and their newly introduced open day on Saturday afternoon for those who couldn't attend on Sunday.
"We are really happy with how it turned out, especially in a tougher year," she said.
"We are at a really exciting place with our breeding journey. We keep on adding different cow families and diversifying what we already have. We are hoping to offer a bigger draft of 18-month-old bulls moving forward, most of which will be ET sons out of top donor cows."
