Inaugural Big Country Online Genetics Sale hailed a success

The inaugural Big Country Genetics Sale has been judged a success after bidding came to a close on the evening of Monday, February 3.
The sale, sponsored by Gener8 Reproduction, saw 28 semen and embryo packages offered online on Stocklive starting from 3pm on Saturday, February 1.
The results were finalised in conjunction with the Big Country Studmasters & Cattleman function held at The Rix Hotel, Charters Towers, after the first day of selling at the Dalrymple Saleyards.
In all, the 28 lost offered grossed $63,400 for a 100 per cent clearance. Semen straws accounted for $53,100 of this total, while the embryo packages made up the balance of $10,300.
Two straws in lot 5, from Mr V8 Noble 458/7 (IMP US), on account of the JRL stud, topped the semen section of the catalogue, selling for $4250 per straw for a total price of $8500.
Two straws in lot 3 from JDH Datapack Manso (IMP US), also on account of the JRL stud, returned a top bid of $1300 per straw for a total price of $2600.
A single straw in lot 20 from Fairy Springs Duracell 3606 (PS), on account of the Gipsy Plains stud, was snapped for $2000.
Two embryos in lot 27 from NCC Miss Charm 6292 by Kariboe Valley Ventura 1161/0 (PP) and Fairy Springs Duracell 3606 (PS), offered by the Triple E stud, reached $1600 per embryo ($3200) in total to top the section.
Two embryos in lot 28 offered by the XMS stud from XMS Lady Di 123/8 (AI) (PS) by Somerton Oliver (H) and Fairy Springs Duracell 3606 (PS) reached a top bid of $1000 ($2000).
