With the world-renowned Magic Millions January Yearling Sale at the Gold Coast in full-swing, it is timely to look at stallions represented with its first progeny.

Coolmore Stud has made sure that its home-based Australian bred horses Acrobat and Home Affairs get noticed with much promotion of the nine catalogue entries by Acrobat, and 63 by Home Affairs - the latter including a home-bred filly produced from champion three-year-old filly Sunlight.

It should be recalled that Home Affairs - which is by I Am Invincible and stood at $82,500 last year, won the VRC Lightning Stakes-G1 and Coolmore Stud Stakes-G1, while Fastnet Rock's Acrobat won his only start the ATC Inglis Nursery.

Another by I Am Invincible is Barbaric, winner of Canberra's Black Opal Stakes-G3, and stands at Lyndhurst Stud, Warwick, Queensland.

Queensland's Aquis Farm, is represented with Glenfiddich also by Fastnet Rock, while it also has first representatives by Jonker - Spirit Of Boom's $2 million track earner.

Among Queensland's leading sires Better Than Ready, The Odyssey (earner of $1.7m) has its first crop yearlings.

Newgate Farm is represented with four stallions with its first crop progeny - Golden Slipper Stakes-G1 winner Stay Inside, as well as Tiger Of Malay (both by Extreme Choice), Wild Ruler (Snitzel) and Profiteer (Capitalist).

Extreme Choice's Extreme Warrior (at Rosemount Stud, Victoria), has first yearlings.

Kia-Ora Stud, Aberdeen, will offer the first yearlings by Group 1 winner Captivant (Capitalist), while the now Scone district Corumbene Stud, is home of Standout (Exceed And Excel), with Widden Stud pushing Portland Sky, a Group 1 winner by Deep Field.

New Zealand is represented with two kiwi-based horses with first progeny, Noverre (Savabeel), and Sword Of State (Snitzel).

Northern hemisphere bred stallions with first crop progeny is Darley Stud shuttlers Pinatubo and Victor Ludorum (by Shamardal) and Palace Pier (Kingman), while Coolmore has St Mark's Basilica (Siyouni), and another is Irish bred Aclaim (Acclamation) which formerly stood at Aquis.

THE win at Ipswich last month of Grafterburners is a timely boost to the vendors of the three catalogued youngsters set to sell by first crop juvenile sire Graff - Book 2 of the Magic Millions January Yearling Sale.

Standing at Kitchwin Hills in the Gundy district near Scone, Graff is a speedy son of wonderful sire Star Witness, and which won the MRC Caulfield Sprint-G2, and the ATC San Domenico Stakes-G3.

Since, finishing second at Eagle Farm, Grafterburners is Graff's first winner.

ANOTHER stallion to be recently represented with his first two-year-old winner is Dirty Work.

His gelded son Do I Feel Lucky won at Ascot last Saturday.

Do I Feel Lucky was bred and sold by Mogumber Park, Bullsbrook, fetching $100,000 at last year's Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale in Western Australia.

By champion sire Written Tycoon, Dirty Work originally stood at Spendthrift near Riddles Creek, before transferring to Widden Victoria.

Sprinting being his specialty, Dirty Work won five races including the MRC Schillaci Stakes-G2 at Caulfield, and the Scone Race Club's Ortensia Stakes-LR.

The Kruger family's Lyndhurst Stud at Warwick will offer the lone catalogued entry (of a total of 1401 listed) on the first day of Book 2 at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale this Sunday.

The second crop colt is the first foal of the placed Exceed And Excel mare Big Time Girl.
