Picture by Samantha Townsend.In what has been described as the "biggest one yet" the Angus Youth National Roundup has attracted 229 competitors from across the country.Cattle enthusiasts aged eight to 25 from as far as Tasmania and Western Australia have descended on the Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre, Tamworth for the four day event.With the Neogen World Angus Forum to be held in Australia in May and a combination of 'word of mouth' has contributed to the record numbers."It's the biggest one yet," Roundup spokesperson Toni Nugent said."Post covid everything is getting back to normal."While the event encompasses a number of competitions from cattle preparation, handling, showing and judging, a large focus is placed on educational sessions and team building activities, designed to encourage and inspire the next generation to remain active in the beef industry.The event is hosted by Angus Youth, the junior activities division of Angus Australia.
