An "equine masterpiece" has sold for six figures at the 50th Dalby Australian Stock Horse Sale on Saturday, November 30.

Westlake Corina was offered by Cameron Parker, Westwood, and presented by Matt Moffat.

She sold for $130,000 to Robert and Angela Linneth, Ropeley Park, Tansey.

The five-year-old, 15 hands high mare was by impact sire Hazelwood Conman and out of Acres Destiny daughter, Chickasha Olivia 02, that went back to Docs Freckles Oak on the grand dam side.

Her sale description indicated she was a "very soft going mare, ready to start competing".

Auctioneer Lincoln McKinlay said the mare was like a diamond; a rare investment.

"They are not making anymore of them ladies and gentlemen," he told the crowd.

Bidding opened at $20,000 and doubled within a few seconds, soaring to the best price on the first day of the sale, as the final 27 lots were sold into the evening.

The previous sale record for a mare was $114,000 for Malua Tilly Devine, sold in 2021
