The Illawarra region of NSW was among the worst-performing regional house market over the 12 months to January 2023, according to Corelogic’s latest Regional Market Performance Report.
The region, which comprises the key cities of Wollongong and Shellharbour as well as the traditionally rural Southern Highlands area, including Mittagong, Bowral, Moss Vale, Bundanoon, Robertson and Berrima, saw house values drop 12.6 per cent in the period. This follows on from a 44 per cent surge in values in the recent growth cycle.
