Established in the 1890’s by pioneers George Bostock and Harry Bathern, the station was acquired by the Dunnicliff family in 2002, which embarked on an extensive land and water development program over the next fifteen years.
In 2014, retail billionaire Brett Blundy – who made his fortune in retail and more recently property development, partnered with the family and set about one of the country’s largest agricultural development programs. Beetaloo is currently owned by Blundy and partners Jane and Scotty Armstrong.

The massive investment program has encompassed water and fencing and cattle yard development to take the property’s capacity to what it is today. Beetaloo Aggregation now ranks as one of Northern Australia’s most iconic pastoral enterprises.
The infrastructure development program has delivered high coverage of water points across the property, with 64 bores delivering water via 3,000km of 75mm underground polyethylene pipe year-round to 603 water points and approximately 559 steel and concrete troughs.

Located in the reliable Northern Australian monsoon area, the aggregation also benefits from a reliable long-term average annual rainfall of around 553mm.
Featuring a good blend of different land systems, including open plains and woodlands, the property features high-quality fencing constructed from Iowa heavy-gauge barbed wired and steel strainer posts and gates.

Many corners of paddocks are connected by a four-way system of interlocking gates which allow for flexibility of stock movement. Most yards are connected by internal laneways which allows cattle to be walked from the north-east outstation OT Downs to the centre of Mungabroom with ease and no logistical costs.
Additionally, there are now 22 sets of steel cattle yards across the aggregation, with holding paddocks that feed into them for ease of handling. Many of the cattle yards are linked together with laneways so cattle can be moved about safely, efficiently and cost effectively from one area to another.

It has also provided the benefit of being able to consistently produce, at an exceptionally efficient production cost, large volumes of high-quality Brahman and Brahman-cross cattle, primarily for supply to the live export trade and also to the Australian beef processing channel for boxed beef export markets.
