Virbac Weaner Challenge & Feature Sale – 6,000 Head Cattle

The Tamworth Livestock Agents (TLA) — representing 10 agencies across the New England and North West including Davidson Cameron & Co, Elders, Northwest Agencies, McCulloch Agencies, Newcombe Livestock & Property, Nutrien Livestock, Pitt Sons, Purtle Plevey Agencies, Garvin & Cousens, and Ian Morgan Livestock — host their flagship annual Virbac Weaner Challenge and Feature Sale at the Tamworth Regional Livestock Exchange on Friday 10th April 2026. Approximately 6,000 weaners are expected, with this being a weaner-only sale as specifically noted in the catalogue. Virbac product and cash prizes will be awarded for the best pen of steers and best pen of heifers, with an overall Champion Pen also announced on the day. Online bidding is available via Stocklive.
The yarding draws from the New England Tablelands and North West plains, featuring predominantly Angus and Angus-cross mixed sex weaners alongside Euro-cross lines. Standout lots include 350 Texas Angus-blood Angus x m/s weaners from T & T Hailing, "Hillside", Woolbrook — multiple Virbac Challenge winners; 250 Angus m/s weaners from Wallacey (sired by 3R, Knowla & Tivoli Angus); 140 EU Accredited m/s weaners from Barlow Park Partnership (Eaglehawk & Glenmorgan blood); 120 EU Accredited Angus x m/s weaners from Colly Creek Pastoral, Willow Tree (Coolie, Booroomooka & Peakes blood, vendor bred, grass fed & AB free); and 100 Charolais & Simmental cross m/s weaners from AB & BA Walker, Wallabadah — 2024 Virbac Challenge winners. Shorthorn lines are also represented via Clover Dale (Futurity, Yamburgan & Turnaville blood, yard weaned), along with Hereford x and Euro cross steers from Germarden.
The sale runs from 10:00am to 4:00pm at TRLX, located on Phoenix Street in Westdale, approximately 10km north-west of the Tamworth CBD, with easy access to the Oxley and New England Highways.
