About Rob Atkinson
My name is Rob Atkinson. Married to Donna for 40 years with 2 adult children, Amy and John. We have been beef cattle producers our entire lives, so we are very familiar with making a living off the land. I was born and raised at Glen Ruth in the Herbert River catchment of North Queensland, Donna on Mt.Dare Station on the NT/SA border. We have owned and lived in various locations around Queensland since 1985, including 10 years in the Brigalow country near Middlemount, between Nebo and Dingo. 8 years in the North and South Burnett, at Mundubbera and Goomeri, and 17 years at Katandra on Mitchell Grass Downs country between Hughenden and Winton. This gives us a wide appreciation and understanding of country types over a vast area of Queensland.
We are excited to be launching our new business, Atkinson Rural, as a new choice for anyone looking to market their rural property, anywhere in Queensland. A lifetime of living on the land gives us a firm grounding of understanding land and soil types, pasture species both native and improved, and timber species over a vast area of our state. Donna and I make a great team. Donna’s eye for detail, task completion, prompt response to queries, and as a bonus she is organised, and productive.
Having bought and sold numerous properties over 40 years, we are also aware of what is required from a property agency, to ensure both the vendor and the buyer are completely satisfied with the service that Atkinson Rural will provide. A real estate agent’s role is crucial in rural property transactions. Firstly to provide a professional service to the vendor who is entrusting us with, in most cases, their most valuable asset. Most landholders know of the recent property sales in their local area, so they have a good idea of the price they want to achieve.
From a buyer’s perspective, an honest and trustworthy appraisal of the property including all relevant information, is critical.
Atkinson Rural’s role is to achieve the best possible sale outcome for our client, the vendor, and a satisfied, well informed purchaser who has no regrets after settlement.
I received my real estate licence in 2022 and joined Ashley and Carol Coleman’s team at the Professionals Real Estate firm in Gympie.
During this time, I marketed our property near Goomeri, achieving a very good result. We have since gone back into business with our son John and daughter-in-law Bec and jointly purchased Cocklebinda near Baralaba. Recently we decided to complete the necessary study modules to start our own Real Estate business, Atkinson Rural.
Our passions are family, people, rural life, sport and improving the capacity of our farmland to produce healthy animals, crops and environments. Cattle and horses have always been part of our life too. We value our rural way of life, Australia’s freedoms, including our freedom to speak freely.
Over the years we have held various roles in community and industry organisations. Cattlemen’s Union, Agforce, Cattle Producer’s Australia, NorthBEEF Inc., Droughtmaster Australia, Property Rights Australia, Middlemount P&C Assoc., Clarke Creek Pony Club and Middlemount Rodeo and Campdraft Assoc. are some of those organisations.
Distance is no obstacle when it comes to providing the services of Atkinson Rural, so if you are considering selling your rural property or if you are looking to invest in rural property, please give us a call.
