Kirreway, 864 Great Alpine Road, Tarrawingee VIC 3678

A white country homestead framed by mature trees, established roses and sweeping lawns sets the scene at Kirreway, a rural holding of approximately 41.29 hectares / 102 acres combining residential comfort, practical grazing improvements and a distinctive Ovens river setting close to Wangaratta.

Held by the current owner since 2013, the property has been thoughtfully reshaped around the pleasures and practicalities of country living. The home has undergone extensive reconfiguration, creating a more connected layout and bringing natural light and views across the flats into everyday living spaces.

A custom kitchen forms a central feature, with a generous picture window capturing the rural outlook. Dining space, a pantry, laundry, storeroom and dedicated office support daily living, while two bathrooms and four toilets add convenience. Improvements reported by the owners include a replaced roof by the previous owner, renewed floor coverings, interior and exterior painting, and plumbing and electrical upgrades within the modified areas.

Outside, the farmhouse character is complemented by newly installed substantial veranda posts, established garden beds and a canopy of mature trees. Oaks, liquidambars, elms and other specimen plantings contribute shade and seasonal interest. A circular driveway provides a welcoming approach, while a separate double garage offers vehicle accommodation and storage.

The land is arranged into approximately ten paddocks with laneways and bore supplied livestock troughs. Cattle yards with an undercover crush, a redundant dairy and shearing shed and an extended hay shed provide a useful base for grazing activities and rural storage. Bore water serves garden taps and 10 livestock troughs, complemented by domestic rainwater storage. Along the southern side of the holding, the river and its tree lined banks add a natural backdrop to the farm and an appealing connection with the surrounding landscape.

In a prize position with convenient access to Wangaratta in and the Hume Freeway, Kirreway offers buyers the opportunity to combine an established country home and garden with the space and infrastructure of a manageable rural holding.
