Arrowsmith Aggregation
'Arrowsmith' is a large-scale farming enterprise in the Geraldton Port Zone of Western Australia. The operation is of sufficient size to support a manager and operations team, making it a stand-alone production enterprise.
The property straddles the Arrowsmith River, in the Shires of Three Springs and Irwin and has major arterial road frontage to Brand Highway. It is located approximately 19 kilometres north of Eneabba, 47 kilometres south of Dongara, 108 kilometres south of Geraldton and 270 kilometres north of Western Australia's capital city, Perth.
Encompassing 4,377 hectares (10,818 acres) across three contiguous freehold lots, the property enjoys reliable rainfall, productive soil types and excellent cropping and livestock infrastructure.
The holding consists of 'Patmores', 1,819 hectares, 'South Park', 1,242 hectares and 'Wildwood', 1,316 hectares, with a total arable area of approximately 3,253 hectares being 74% of the total land area.
The aggregation is in the Geraldton Port zone with the nearest grain delivery facilities located at Geraldton (120 kilometres by road) and Arrino (96 kilometres by road).
The aggregation of properties enjoy consistent production being in a medium rainfall zone with an estimated annual rainfall of 450mm, which combined with its diverse soil types makes it ideally suited to growing high yielding cereal, lupin and canola crops. Well established clover and serradella based pastures underpin a sheep enterprise and rotational cropping opportunities.
'Patmores' was previously a livestock intensive property and is in the process of being converted to a more cropping based enterprise. Approximately 320 hectares have recently had extensive soil amelioration with the application of limesand and deep spading. Results are impressive at this early stage.
With 'South Park' an already 100% grain growing property and 'Wildwood' a mixed farming proposition, the aggregation still has plenty of upside in production potential along with being well established in the main.
The soil types are an excellent blend of clays, sand over clay and gravels, yellow and lighter sands. Multiple accommodation options and outstanding working improvements are all in place, enabling the aggregation to be a turnkey operation.
Paddocks are large and open, ensuring ease and efficiency of operation with long runlines for large machinery.
Paddock access is excellent with a network of gravel roads as well as Brand Highway, Skipper Road, Rob Road and Correy Road. The topography is undulating, falling from the north and east to the valley floor and the Arrowsmith River which bisects the property
Original native vegetation includes River Gum, Banksia, Tammar, Mallee, Wattle and Kwongan Heath bushlands.
