18 Little Basin Crest, Bridgetown WA 6255

Located in the locality of Glenlynn, approximately five minutes from Bridgetown, this remarkable and secluded three bedroom, three bathroom residence, accompanied by a separate guest cottage with its own ensuite, is set on approximately five acres with an impressive 300 metres of direct frontage to the Blackwood River.

Completed in 2008, this distinctive country lodge style home was constructed from Western Red Cedar and inspired by traditional American log cabin architecture. From the stone walled entrance and handcrafted timber doors to the soaring cathedral ceilings, the attention to detail is evident throughout.

At the centre of the home is an extraordinary living area featuring a 7.5 metre high cathedral trussed ceiling, exposed timber beams, Scandinavian Baltic pine lined walls and a substantial stone fireplace with a Jetmaster fire. The adjoining rear terrace overlooks the Blackwood River and surrounding farmland, providing a spectacular setting to enjoy the changing seasons.

The spacious country style kitchen features a Falcon range cooker, walk in pantry, butler's sink and slow combustion wood stove. A generous dining area with an adjoining sitting nook complements the main living space, while a separate conservatory style sunroom located close to the main residence provides another inviting space to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

The large main bedroom features French doors opening to the outdoors, a walk in robe and spacious ensuite with bath. Upstairs, a further living area incorporates a study nook, while two additional bedrooms each have their own ensuite and built in storage.
Underfloor heating services most of the ground floor, while the combination of natural timber, stone and carefully selected finishes creates warmth and character throughout.
The separate guest cottage provides additional accommodation, complete with a wraparound verandah, ensuite, walk in robe, reverse cycle heating and cooling and ceiling fan.

Outside, the grounds are equally impressive, with approximately 150 deciduous trees, an established rose garden, a magnificent white wisteria covered pergola, grapevines and beautifully maintained cottage gardens featuring a decorative fountain. The extensive landscaping and established plantings complement the natural beauty of the riverside setting.
