The Wanna lease "originally known as Elliot Creek" from its early days throughout its history of owners up to the current has been a producer of quality cattle. Pastoral archives note a comment from Ennie Bain of Mt Clere Station "Some of the best bullocks to go to Meekatharra rail head were always from Elliot Creek". In the mid 1950's "Elliot Creek" was re-named "Wanna Station" The Wanna lease and Gifford Creek lease were amalgamated. The Lyons River runs along the south boundary of the original Wanna Lease and through the original Gifford Creek lease from it Eastern to Western boundary. The Lyons River floods out onto Wanna over an estimated 50,000 hectares that is well colonized with Buffel and native grasses. This area has proven to grow out and fatten sale cattle most years. The Wanna breeding herd has had a regular input of the most up to date Droughtmaster genetics, the Homestead, yards, power system and water are well maintained, and the plant and equipment is extensive and more than adequate to run the property.
Wanna has a very comfortable 5 bedroom main homestead set in established gardens and expansive lawns, staff quarters, plenty of sheds and a good workshop with vehicle hoist. The Wanna out camp could be used as a second homestead as it remains a fully functional homestead complex.
Rated potential carrying capacity of 3,600 cattle units, 57 equipped bores 32 with trap yards, 2 large main sets of cattle yards and 4 other smaller strategically located trucking and handling yards. The sale includes over 4,000 cattle.
