MY22.5 Model Update: From Rugged Workhorse Through To Fun Family Car Or Off-Road Adventurer
After a strong start to 2022, Mitsubishi Motors Australia has unveiled 22.5 model year updates for its popular Triton utility range.
With first arrivals expected in mid-2022, Mitsubishi Motors Australia CEO Shaun Westcott says there will be a Triton available to suit all applications, from an everyday, rugged workhorse through to a fun family car or off-road adventurer.

Triton GSR
The range-topping Mitsubishi Triton GSR dual-cab pick-up adopts the high-end smartphone link display audio system with seven-inch touchscreen, six speakers, digital radio, and Bluetooth connectivity with voice control and audio streaming
This high-end system also features the multi-around monitor, which provides a 360-degree bird’s eye view of the vehicle to assist manoeuvring, and a HDMI port for additional connectivity.
GLX Pick-Up
All Triton diesel cab-chassis and GLX pick-up variants now benefit from the seven-inch ‘MiDisplay’ infotainment system.
This modern, four-speaker touchscreen system allows both Apple and Android smartphone connectivity, while offering the convenience of a three-in-one USB to lightning type C and micro-USB cable. Digital radio and Bluetooth connectivity and audio streaming are also included.

The entry-level, petrol-powered GLX cab-chassis 4x2 manual retains its 6.1-inch touchscreen display audio unit with CD player and two speakers.
Triton GLS Deluxe and GSR Tan Orange Interior
Carried over from MY22, the Triton GLS Deluxe and GSR tan-orange interior option packages provide a further sense of sophistication and individualisation for these high-grade dual-cab pick-up models.
The GLS Deluxe package is available for automatic GLS dual-cab pick-ups and comprises leather-appointed seat trim; powered driver’s seat adjustment; heated front seats; door trims with leather-appointed inserts; and multi around monitor.
Choosing the Triton GSR with the tan-orange interior option adds tan-orange leather-appointed highlights on black leather-appointed seats; black leather-appointed door trims with orange stitching; tan-orange console box and knee pad; and black steering wheel, gear shifter and park brake finished with tan-orange stitching.
Personalisation Options
Mitsubishi’s expansive accessories range gives all Triton owners the opportunity to truly personalise their vehicle.
Using the range as inspiration, the roll top tonneau pack for Triton GSR packages, together with key accessories, creates a unique look with additional practicality.

The GLS grade has a unique black/silver sports fabric trim, while GLS Deluxe and GSR models gain black leather appointed trim with contrasting silver stitching.
The Triton GSR with the tan-orange interior option features contrasting black and orange leather-appointed upholstery.
Dependable Drivetrains
The entry-specification Triton GLX single-cab chassis 4x2 is powered by the robust and responsive 94kW 2.4-litre petrol engine and paired with a five-speed manual transmission.
Combined ADR 81/02 fuel consumption is rated at 11.4L/100km.

All other variants are powered by Mitsubishi’s proven MIVEC 2.4-litre turbocharged, intercooled diesel engine, with a choice of 4x2 or 4x4, six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmissions.
This combination produces 133kW of power at 3,500rpm, with a strong 430Nm torque output, available at only 2,500rpm.
Fuel consumption, according to ADR 81/02 standards, ranges from only 7.8L/100km to 8.6L/100km, depending on vehicle grade and transmission.
Safety Is Paramount
All Mitsubishi Triton models benefit from a range of passive and active safety features, including airbags to the front and side for both the driver and front passenger, curtain airbags and a driver’s knee airbag.
Under the MiTEC banner, a range of active safety and support features are available within the Triton range, including speed limiter (All); emergency stop signal (All); emergency brake assist (All); hill start assist (All); active stability control (All); trailer stability assist (All); active traction control (All); electronic brake force distribution (All); and brake override system (All).
