Farmbuy Finds Success in Northern Queensland

Small rural real estate website gets big results for Queensland agency

Husband and wife realtor duo Danielle and Michael English have only been promoting their properties with Farmbuy for six months, but they're sure of one thing -- they're never going back. 

The pair run Town to Country Realty, a family-owned company based in Ravenshoe that sells rural, residential and big farming properties throughout the Cairns Hinterland. Although the agency has been operating for nearly 5 years, they only recently began advertising with Farmbuy, and have been delighted by the results. 

"We haven't been on there that long, but it's been working for quite a few of our bigger rural properties. We get a lot more enquiries from there," said Julie Vozzo, a member of Town to Country's sales team. "Most of my enquiries for the property that we have listed at Pikedale came from Farmbuy...about 70%."

Farmbuy has also been successful in providing Town to Country with a diverse range of leads, including from international businesses. 

“With a property that I was selling down here, we got a lot of enquiries from people overseas with Farmbuy, and only one from realestate.com," said Vozzo. "That’s always a bonus, we’ve got a lot more companies looking at it." She was excited to see that the property garnered interest from potential buyers located across the world through Farmbuy, including in Korea, Chile and India. 

Farmbuy has brought in buyers from closer to home, too. Town to Country, like many rural real estate agencies, has benefitted significantly from the mass migration of city dwellers to the country as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sales Manager Michael English said that those locked down in cities such as Melbourne and Sydney "have pushed out a lot to the country...if they've had the means and the resources." Farmbuy has supported the agency in capturing this tree-changer market.

Ultimately, English said, “Farmbuy’s given us a really good result within the short time that we’ve been with you guys. You’ve come a long way in a short time for us."
