Four Of The Best Rural Properties For Sale Grafton NSW

Grafton Bucks The Trend With Rise In House Prices

The Coffs Harbour-Grafton region of NSW was one of only seven sub-regions to record a rise in house values in August, according to CoreLogic’s latest national Home Value Index (HVI).

The region registered a 0.6 per cent increase in the month against a national decline of 1.6 per cent, the fourth consecutive month of deflation and the largest month-on-month drop since 1983.

Other sub-regions to report an increase in house prices in August were the northern suburbs of Adelaide (0.9 per cent) and Perth’s North East and Mandurah (0.6 per cent / 0.5 per cent).

All up, Corelogic found regional home values were down a marginally lower 1.5 per cent in August compared with a 1.6 per cent fall in values across the combined capitals.

Between March 2020 and January 2022 regional dwelling values surged more than 40 per cent compared with a 25.5 per cent rise for the combined capitals.

“The largest falls in regional home values are emanating from the commutable lifestyle hubs where housing values had surged prior to the recent rate hikes,” says CoreLogic’s research director, Tim Lawless.

“Over the past three months, values are down eight per cent across the Richmond-Tweed, 4.8 per cent across the Southern Highlands-Shoalhaven market and 4.5 per cent across Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.”

It’s no surprise Grafton – the central township in the Clarence Valley in the Northern Rivers region of NSW – remains a property hotspot.

Just south of Byron Bay, the Clarence Valley offers an unrivalled landscape shaped by rivers, beaches, World Heritage-listed rainforest reserves and lush countryside, and is characterised by a unique combination of sleepy fishing villages and coastal and rural hamlets – all within a three-hour drive of Brisbane.

Drawing its name from the mighty Clarence River, the Valley encompasses the inland towns of Grafton and McLean, the charming riverside village of Ulmarra, and the coastal enclaves of Iluka, Yamba and Wooli.
