The grazing country is carrying a large body of pasture, set around “Mt Walker” mainly open Coolabah black soils to Ti-Tree gullies. Dominate pastures include Blue Grass, Buffel, Forest Mitchell & other native pastures & legumes.
CULTIVATION:
In January 2023, 40 Acres of Sugar Graze Forage was planted with an application of CK55 at 35kg/ha. 45 Cows and calves have rotated through the crop twice. In crop rain of 336ml.
In May 2023, 202 Acres of Coolah Wheat has been planted at a rate of 30kg/ha with an application 25kg/ha of CK55. This country has been planted into fallow sorghum stubble with keeping in mind that the future wheat stubble will provide adequate stubble coverage for ongoing ground cover.
In May 2023, 440 Acres of Kyabra Chickpea has been planted at a rate of 48kg/ ha with 30kg/ha of CK55 fertiliser.
All crops this year have been planted with a disc seeder to reduce tillage and to retain sub soil moisture.
WATERS:
“Mt Walker is well watered with 3 bores and 2 dams. The water reticulation system is pumped around the property via 63mm poly, with the water used for stock & domestic as well as spray application.
House Bore – Mains Powered Grundfos submersible, pumping from 12m, 1,368L per hour. Suitable for stock water. Pumps to 5,500 Gallon poly tank, feeds to a horse trough, via 40mm rural poly, tank has a pressure switch to enable pumping.
