Two-thirds of the holding remains untouched temperate rainforest, providing a rare and significant remnant of the original climatic climax forest of the Strzelecki Ranges. Covering an area comparable in size to Tarra Valley National Park, this unique natural landscape is a defining feature of the property.

At around 400 metres above sea level, this property is positioned in a similar biosphere to the nearby 'protected' towering Mountain Ash forests of Tarra Bulga National parks along the Grand Ridge Road

After multi-generational ownership, the current custodians are now motivated to assign responsibility to younger 'like minded' owners.
