There’s never been a better time to purchase rural land, as new data confirms that Australian agricultural property has outperformed all other real estate asset classes over the past 20 years.

A report completed by the Australian Property Institute confirms that agricultural property values rose by 256% over the past 20 years, compared to 164% for industrial property, 154% for residential property and 143% for office property according to their report.

On an annualised basis, this equates to growth of 13% per year for agricultural property, 8% for industrial property, 8% for residential property and 7% for office property. The report also found that inflation over the same period was 67%, so even poor performing regions or asset classes have still performed better than the CPI.
