The Basin was the original home to the legendary Basin Angus Stud and is esteemed in stud stock sale history, having hosted some renowned bull sales in the past and present, from it's magnificent sales complex.
The property is in very good heart, having been grazed conservatively by the current owners, it has terrific ground cover with an abundance of dry feed matter.
The farm has a very strong clover base with Strawberry, Balansa and Medic clover burr, being quite visible on the ground. This is balanced with a Phalaris, Rye, and veldt grass mix with some lucerne, making for a terrific grazing blend.
The Basin is well set up for grazing or breeding cattle or sheep, with excellent fencing and convenient laneways connecting most of the paddocks to the yards and shedding. A fair percentage of the boundary fence is brand new, and the rest is only relatively young.

The Basin has a fair proportion of strong loamy flats with clay close and this country offers terrific spring pasture mixes.
There is two houses on the property and the main house sits on its own smaller title. They are both solid stone in construction with the main dwelling being constructed from Mount Gambier stone with a Bluestone façade and the other is a solid 4-bedroom plus office Mount Gambier stone home. Both are situated in a beautiful native timber setting and close to the sheds and yards.
The 5 Stand shearing shed is in good condition with a sizeable set of yards adjacent, having been maintained with k rail, mesh and boasting an undercover working area with a concrete race.
