Elders presents the AuctionsPlus Tas Cattle Sale on Friday 16 October, featuring 240 Poll Hereford Spring 2025 drop cattle on account of Quamby Plains Pty Ltd, Hagley, Tasmania. The offering comprises 140 steers and 100 heifers from one of Tasmania's most respected Hereford operations. Quamby Plains has bred quality stud and commercial Poll Herefords for more than 100 years, with a strong focus on fertility, temperament and carcase traits. The family-run business has been operated by the Archer family since 1894 and is located 24 km south-west of Launceston.
These cattle are grass fed with nil grain and nil antibiotics, and are Greenhams Never Ever and GAP accredited as well as JBS Farm Assured, making them well suited to buyers targeting premium grass-fed and EU-style supply chains. They are backed by the genetics of the Quamby Plains stud, whose bulls set a Tasmanian Hereford breed record at $102,000 at the stud's annual on-property sale this year.
