Bairnsdale Store Sale – 1,500 Head

The Bairnsdale Store Sale at the East Gippsland Livestock Exchange gets underway on Friday 27th March 2026, commencing at 9AM, with an outstanding yarding of 1,500 head across weaners, grown steers, and cows with calves at foot. This is one of East Gippsland's most anticipated store cattle sales in Victoria, drawing quality lines from well-regarded local and regional producers.

The sale is presented by three leading agents — Bill Wyndham & Co. Livestock & Real Estate, Nutrien Ag Solutions, and Elders — ensuring expert representation across every pen.

Weaners & Lighter Steers dominate the catalogue with a strong and varied offering. JCJ & LM White present 50 Charolais x Angus mixed-sex weaners, Greenhams Never Ever Accredited. Kent Park & Partners offer two separate lines totalling 80 Hereford Steers carrying Karoonda and Newcomen bloodlines, all weaned and Greenhams Never Ever Accredited. W Duncan catalogues 40 Hereford & Black Baldy mixed-sex cattle — vendor bred, Antibiotic Free and Grassfed. Further weaner entries include 30 Black Baldy mixed-sex from M Knott (weaned, Greenhams Never Ever Accredited), 30 Black Baldy mixed-sex from J Maglione, and 20 Hereford Steers with Karoonda blood from Q Hodge, weaned and Greenhams Never Ever Accredited.

Grown Angus Steers feature prominently throughout the catalogue. BC & MJ Rowe offer 20 Angus Steers (12 months), weaned, Antibiotic Free and Grassfed. R & J Stephenson and W Gibbs each present 20 Angus Steers at 18 months. Peter Barton catalogues 15 Angus Steers (12 months), weaned, Antibiotic Free and Grassfed, while Benambra Fodder offer 10 weaned Angus Steers at 15 months.

Through Elders, D & L Webb present 32 Angus Steers (16–18 months), Never Ever Accredited — a standout line for buyers seeking accredited, well-grown backgrounding cattle in the Gippsland store cattle market.

Bill Wyndham offers several strong lines including 6 Hereford Steers (2 years) and 20 Angus Steers (20 months) under the JW account, 15 Hereford Steers (12 months) with Karoonda bloodlines from S Seivers, Benambra, and 5 Hereford Steers (16 months) from P Rooks, Pilgrim–Bruthen.

The Cows & Calves section is highlighted by Penderscourt, offering a mixed group of 9 females with Angus calves at foot (4–10 weeks) — comprising 4 Shorthorn cross cows (second calvers), 3 Hereford heifers (first calvers), and 2 Blue Roan heifers (first calvers). All are not rejoined, presenting an excellent opportunity for breeders seeking young, productive females in the East Gippsland breeding cattle market.
